Child Enrichment Center

Gonzalez United Methodist Church opened the doors of the Child Enrichment Center on August 2, 2005 as an outreach ministry to families within the Cantonment community.  The Child Enrichment Center (CEC) is a ministry designed to meet the needs of today’s families by providing a loving safe environment in which children can grow and learn.

The CEC ministers to over a 100 children per day.  The ministry hosts a class for one year olds, two year olds, three year olds, and two VPK classes.

An afterschool program was opened in the fall of 2011.  This program provides quality care for elementary age children.  The CEC bus picks up children from Pine Meadow, Lipscomb, McArthur Elementary Schools.

Manuals, providing detailed information for both the preschool and afterschool programs can be accessed through this site.

We invite you to come by and visit our facility at any time.  We would love to share with you more about this growing ministry!

Our Purpose

“Our purpose is that they (children) may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:2-3) May we as a church bring Him honor and glory through the love and care of His children!

Our Goals

It is our goal to serve families within the community by establishing a child enrichment center that:

  • Provides a safe and secure environment in which children can grow and learn.
  • Instills a sense of self worth and self-confidence in each child.
  • Stimulates spiritual, educational and physical growth.
  • Encircles children with the love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our Philosophy

“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are our reward.” (Psalms 127:3)

Children are indeed a gift from the Lord, a gift to be valued and nurtured! Gonzalez United Methodist Church recognizes the importance of the formative years in the emotional, physical, spiritual and educational development of young children. We believe that children are precious in His sight, therefore it is our desire to provide an enrichment center for children that will lay a foundation in both faith and knowledge. We believe that traditional family roles should be taught as instituted by God to enhance moral/spiritual values. We are committed to growing children in the sound teaching of God’s word, to nurturing children in His love, and to encouraging children in their personal relationship with Jesus. We seek to provide an atmosphere that stimulates learning through play, exploration, self-expression, observation, problem-solving and loving instruction.

Gonzalez United Methodist Child Enrichment Center admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
